Shakori Hills is a beautiful farm in the very heart of North Carolina in Chatham County. Shakori Hills Community Arts Center (SHCAC) provides culturally significant arts, music and educational activities and outreach to local and regional communities, while teaching environmental awareness and sustainable living practices. Programming includes the twice-yearly Shakori Hills GrassRoots Festival of Music & Dance in May and October and the Hoppin’ John Old-Time & Bluegrass Fiddlers’ Convention each September.
There is a permanent stage, a well-kept barn (known as the Coffee Barn), campgrounds, the Nonagon, ticket booth, security booth, parking gate booth, three concession stands, nice gravel roads, a shower house, a permanent bathroom structure, a general store, and deep-well drinking-water.
