Scranton Cultural Center
Description
Opened in 1930, the Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple offers all variety of entertainment options. Housed in the Masonic Temple and Scottish Rite Cathedral in downtown Scranton, PA, the venue is a beautiful place to catch a Broadway show, orchestra concert, rock or pop concert, plays and more.
The historic facility houses two theaters and a ballroom. The Weinberg Theater is a 1929 era theater with a seated capacity of 1856, a proscenium stage, balcony, and mezzanine. Shopland Hall is an intimate, 700-capacity proscenium theater with a wraparound balcony. And the Grand Ballroom is a large, 2300-capacity formal ballroom with stenciled walls and ceilings, large chandeliers, and large windows.
The Scranton Cultural Center at the Masonic Temple (SCCMT) operates the facility as a regional regional center for the arts, education and community activity.
