Strand Center for the Arts is an arts center, music studio, and 900-seat theater in downtown Plattsburgh, NY, offering rich cultural experiences to the local community. The historic Strand Theater, now called the Strand Center Theatre, was built in 1924 as a vaudeville theater in the Neoclassical style. The auditorium is outfitted with HD cinema equipment, lighting, sound, and dressing rooms appropriate for hosting premier performances. The Strand Center presents independent films, local and touring performers, gallery events, artisan markets, classes and more.
