Description
Built in 1904, The Grand Opera House is a historic theater and the performing arts center of Mercer University in downtown Macon, GA. The ornate venue offers Broadway productions, concerts, comedy, and educational programs. The Grand seats up to 1,030 and features state-of-the-art acoustics and excellent sightlines with orchestra, balcony, and box seating. Two elegant lobbies with full bars were added in 2018: The Encore Room and the CenterState Reception Room.
The Grand is home to the Macon-Mercer Symphony Orchestra as well as community and cultural organizations like The Nutcracker of Middle Georgia, Macon Civic Club, Georgia Allman Brothers Band Association festival (GABBAfest), The Otis Redding Foundation and more.
