The Speed Art Museum, in Louisville, KY, is an independent, encyclopedic museum, and the oldest and largest art museum in the state. From concerts and exhibitions to gallery talks and film festivals, there’s never any shortage of activity at the Speed. Established in 1927 on the University of Louisville’s Belknap campus, the venue includes a state-of-the-art cinema, a family education center, indoor/outdoor café, museum shop, and a multifunctional pavilion for performances, lectures and entertainment.
