Opened in 2019, The Shed is an arts and cultural center in Hudson Yards on Manhattan’s West Side. The Shed’s highly adaptable Bloomberg Building is an eight-level structure that includes two large gallery spaces, a versatile theater, and multiple event spaces. The Shed brings together established and emerging artists to create new work in fields ranging from pop to classical music, painting to digital media, theater to literature, and sculpture to dance.
The Shed’s largest space, The McCourt, is formed when a telescoping outer shell is deployed over the adjoining plaza, doubling the building’s footprint. An iconic space for large-scale performances, installations, and events, The McCourt can accommodate a seated audience of 1,250 or up to 2,000 standing.
The Kenneth C. Griffin Theater, on Level 6, seats up to 500 people and can be transformed into two smaller spaces to create more intimate event settings.
The Shed’s column-free, museum-quality galleries on levels 2 and 4 provide large, open spaces for events.
The Tisch Skylights and Lab, on Level 8, are striking spaces for events, rehearsals, and artist development that seat approximately 450 people, with standing room for 750. ...
